Re: can not perform release - site fails

Baptiste MATHUS-3

See the tweets of yesterday of the Codehaus account. I guess it's related.

To sum up: only a few days left. Shutdown planned for the 17 may. This unavailability is a reminder.

Cheers

Since we are migrating off of the CodeHaus servers, I respect that some things are shut down.
I am, however, uncertain as to where we should host the plugin documentation for the releases being done at present.

The GitHub markdown/wiki could possibly be a documentation target, but the maven site will need to be overhauled (or removed and redone) to fit into a GitHub wiki.

Re: can not perform release - site fails

Karl Heinz Marbaise-2
Hi,

I have temporarily put the plugin documentation for
versions-maven-plugin onto this:

http://khmarbaise.github.io/versions-maven-plugin/

which worked very simple ......

The simplest and fastes solution would be to change the
distributionManagement entry for site and use the
maven-scm-publish-plugin which supports Git (gh-pages branch)...

The only thing which is not clear to me at the moment where to put pages
like mojo.codehaus.org itself which might be put on the

https://github.com/mojohaus

area...?

Kind regards
Karl Heinz Marbaise

+1. I was thinking about using GH pages (as was already proposed in our discussions).

I thought we could use subdomains/GH mapping. For example:

WDYT?

Hi,

I have temporarily put the plugin documentation for versions-maven-plugin onto this:

http://khmarbaise.github.io/versions-maven-plugin/

which worked very simple ......

The simplest and fastes solution would be to change the distributionManagement entry for site and use the maven-scm-publish-plugin which supports Git (gh-pages branch)...

The only thing which is not clear to me at the moment where to put pages like mojo.codehaus.org itself which might be put on the

https://github.com/mojohaus

Well, I guess it's actually simple and in the same vein: have an organization website ("pages") repository.

See http://mojohaus.github.io actually mapped on the repo I just created

I just mapped the subdomain as http://www.mojohaus.org/ to demonstrate it.

WDYT?

area...?

Kind regards
Karl Heinz Marbaise

the maven site will need to be overhauled (or removed and redone) to fit

Re: can not perform release - site fails

In reply to this post by Karl Heinz Marbaise-2
wip is just a 'work in progress' suffix just in case to notify users they shouldn't begin sending PR on those repos since they are gonna be ditched before the final migration.
In my previous mail, I actually forgot the link I wanted to post:

To sum up, each mojo (i.e. github repository under the mojohaus org) would have its dedicated subdomain. And the mojo/mojohaus website could be under www.mojohaus.org  (or mojohaus.org, currently redirecting to mojo.codehaus.org).

Cheers

I thought we could use subdomains/GH mapping. For example:

WDYT?

sounds good..

But what is the "-wip" ?

Sounds goods...

Re: can not perform release - site fails

Karl Heinz Marbaise-2
Hi Baptiste,

It looks like this:

http://www.mojohaus.org/extra-enforcer-rules-wip/

works out of the box...looks better from my point of view...via the
gh-pages branches from the modules (makes publishing simpler)...

Kind regards
Karl Heinz Marbaise

Re: can not perform release - site fails

Baptiste MATHUS-3
Yup. Actually, both works the same :). See https://help.github.com/articles/about-custom-domains-for-github-pages-sites/#how-github-pages-sites-use-custom-domains

The difference is that the current layout was using some ../ urls (like for the logo) that doesn't work fine with custom subdomains currently.

Hi Baptiste,

It looks like this:

http://www.mojohaus.org/extra-enforcer-rules-wip/

works out of the box...looks better from my point of view...via the gh-pages branches from the modules (makes publishing simpler)...

Kind regards

Ok..sure...

In my previous mail, I actually forgot the link I wanted to post:

http://extra-enforcer-rules-wip.mojohaus.org/

To sum up, each mojo (i.e. github repository under the mojohaus org)
would have its dedicated subdomain. And the mojo/mojohaus website could
be under www.mojohaus.org <http://www.mojohaus.org>  (or mojohaus.org
<http://mojohaus.org>, currently redirecting to mojo.codehaus.org
<http://mojo.codehaus.org>).

Either subdomain or something like
http://www.mojohaus.org/extra-enforcer-rules-wip/ ...(read something
about in the docs about origanizations in github)...

Sounds goods...

Re[2]: [mojo-dev] can not perform release - site fails

Sergei Ivanov
In reply to this post by Karl Heinz Marbaise-2
I am using GitHub site-maven-plugin, which publishes directly to gh-pages and can be bound to site-deploy phase. Note: the default maven-site-plugin in that case needs to have its site deployment suppressed (i.e. use it for site generation only).
